Exposure visit to APMC Yard, Yeshwanthpur, and Simply Namdhari’s, Jayanagar

I Year, 2nd Semester B.Sc. (Hons.) Agricultural Skill & Entrepreneurship students visited APMC Yard, Yeshwanthpur, and Simply Namdhari’s, Jayanagar, Bengaluru, as part of the Principles of Marketing course. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to different types of markets, pricing, and consumer buying behaviour. Students observed market operations and gained practical knowledge of wholesale and retail marketing.

7-Day NSS Special Camp at Chikkamaranahalli

We are pleased to announce that the 7-day NSS Special Camp of GPS Institute of Agricultural Management was successfully organized at Chikkamaranahalli village of Nelamangala Taluk, marking an important milestone in students’ community involvement and experiential learning. The camp combined physical activities, awareness programmes on health, environment, and government schemes, with tree plantation, MGNREGA awareness, and community service. Students from 2nd, 3rd and 4th years took part, gaining field exposure while enhancing teamwork, leadership, and civic responsibility.

Our third year students have successfully undertaken an educational visit to Karnataka State Seeds Corporation Ltd. and Karnataka State Warehousing Corporation, Tumkur. The visit offered valuable hands-on exposure to seed production procedures, scientific storage systems, and pest control measures including fumigation and warehouse operations. This accomplishment highlights the institution’s dedication to practical learning and its mission of nurturing competent, knowledgeable, and future-ready agricultural professionals.

21-Days Intensive Technical Training at ICAR-IIHR

Our final year students successfully completed a 21-days intensive technical hands-on training programme at ICAR-IIHR. The training bridged the gap between academic learning and advanced horticultural practices, offering hands-on experience in nursery management, pro-tray technology, along with insights into protected cultivation, mushroom production, and post-harvest management. This programme has equipped students with diverse, industry-relevant skills, preparing them to emerge as innovative and capable professionals in the agricultural sector.
